Compliance Specialist

Location: Harlow, Essex

Salary: £36,900 per annum

Type: Permanent FTC, Full Time

Adecco Harlow are currently recruiting for a Compliance Specialist to join our client based in Harlow, who are a market leader in their field. The successful candidate will have previous experience of auditing, compliance and Excel.

Areas of responsibility include:

Grants Policy and Pricing

Setting the quarterly Grants pricing, including analysis and system notifications.
Ownership of the Grants Internal Risk and Fraud Framework - monitoring and identifying potential areas of concern.
Responsible for monitoring the external environment (e.g. government benefits) and identifying implications for the department.
Responsible for the development of the department's internal policies.Data Protection and Policy

When the Data Protection Officer is absent, process and respond to Data Subject Access Requests as they are submitted. Act as a role model for data compliance.
In the absence of the Data Protection Officer, provide cover by collating and recording all data breaches, including liaison with senior management and the ICO as necessary.
Responsible for data quality - ensuring all data is captured correctly and any identified gaps addressed.
Responsible for department data retention policies - ensuring all data is retained in line with agreed policy.Operational Compliance

Ensuring the department works in line with any regulatory and/or Governance requirements
Acting as the central point of contact for any audits conducted
Undertaking necessary audits of suppliers
Working with the Operational Business Support (OBS) Manager on the department's business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
Working with the OBS Manager with regards to the department risk assessments and risk register.
Other Ad-hoc duties, as and when required.

Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience


Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills - Ability to interpret, enhance and optimise legacy Management Information reporting from multiple Excel spreadsheets.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
A good grasp of statistical information and correlation to other statistics and/or factors.
Ability to research, analyse and present information with a good eye for detail.
Ability to interrogate and analyse existing processes and re-evaluate them, where appropriate, to make improvements.
Producing clear and easy to understand presentations that communicate findings to non-technical audiences, demonstrating strong presentation skills.
Generate insights from data through exploratory analysis.


Compliance qualification
Previous experience in a complex, customer focused organisation.
