We are currently recruiting for an excellent opportunity for a packaging and ingredients Buyer role based in Norfolk. The role is based quite close to Norwich but you will need to have your own transport.

You will be responsible for all packaging and ingredient requirements for the UK and EU product sales, ensuring cost saving and timely delivery to the business.

• The negotiation of existing, plus new, ingredients and packaging contracts.

• Working with the NPD function to source new items, both ingredients and packaging.

• Co-ordination and management of the introduction of new and replacement packaging

• Liaising, and supporting Supply Chain i.e. ensuring that the factory is not shorted on materials. Investigating problems and finding a resolution particularly in the event of any rejection or delivery issue.

• Take control of retail artwork process, from design house to printer

• Co-ordination and management of new items brought in to the business for launches of new products.

• Engage with suppliers to help the business reduce its carbon footprint by providing our customers with recyclable packaging formats.

• Control and management of packaging waste records.

• Predominantly office based, there will be occasional travel to suppliers both in the UK and EU.

I am looking for someone who is currently in a Buyer role ideally within a manufacturing environment. We are seeking strong Excel skills and ERP/MRP knowledge.

There will be some overseas travel required within this role so I am looking for a degree of flexibility.
