I am currently working for a prestigious Leeds based (not City Centre) Client who are looking to recruit an experienced Finance and Compliance Assistant to join their very successful business with immediate effect on a temporary to permanent basis.

The Client has been established in excess of 40 years and are one of the market leaders within the industry.

As the Finance and Compliance Assistant you will oversee the Finance function and Compliance of the business of which the split will be 80% Finance and 20% SHEQ / Compliance duties.

Duties will include but not be limited to;

Finance Duties;
  • Entering Purchase Invoices onto the system, ensuring correct coding and authorisation
  • Liaising with Purchasing on invoice issues
  • Full Credit Control management
  • Preparing monthly controls and payment runs for Finance Director to review
  • Regular Accounts Payable reporting, including Supplier spend and Supplier rebate reporting
  • Assisting in preparing reports and Journals for Monthly Management Accounts
  • Controlling Petty cash and credit card accounts
  • Manage accounts payable, customer portals and email inbox.
  • Stocktake input

Compliance Duties;
  • Ensure quarterly ISO reports are completed in a timely manner and are to a high standard
  • Carry out necessary ISO audit in order to ensure adherence to ISO 9001, 18001 and 14001
  • Review and update the Company health and safety action plan on a weekly basis ensuring any actions are completed within the designated time frames
  • Complete weekly health and safety checks reporting on any red flags
  • Maintain and update health and safety registers such as COSHH, permit to work and PPE
  • Assist in the induction of new employees ensuring DSE assessments and medical questionnaires are carried out within a timely manner
  • Monitor and make recommendations on health and safety compliance throughout the Company flagging any non-conformities with the senior management team
  • Prepare detailed and meaningful reports to present at the weekly compliance meeting.
  • Review and update the Company GDPR action plan on a weekly basis ensuring any actions are completed within the designated time frames
  • Monitor and make recommendations on Company best practice in order to ensure GDPR compliance
  • Process, archive and destroy ceased contracts and documents appropriately in line with GDPR policy.

Qualifications/Experience

Candidates must have the following - applications received without meeting the criteria below will not be progressed further;
  • AAT Qualification or equivalent at foundation level
  • CIMA (part or full desirable)
  • Ideally a minimum of IOSH Qualification
  • Must have excellent IT skills, including Sage 50 and Excel

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 0730 - 1700 and an annual salary of up to £40,000 will be offered, dependent upon experience.
