Account Manager - Building Services

Home Based - London or Kent

To £50k + £5k Car Allowance + Bonus & Bens


A successful, privately owned technical services group with an annual turnover of £35m that has an excellent reputation for delivering engineering service maintenance, installation/project works, design and specialist joinery to customers within the public, private, residential, commercial and industrial sectors. They have an excellent reputation for the professional and reliable services provided with customer relationships spanning for 20 year plus. Account Manager

You will be home based ideally in London or Kent and be responsible for a portfolio of approximately 15-20 accounts (top end) spread across various customers and multiple sites. You will maintain and further develop relationships to maximise opportunities ensuring hard service engineers and sub-contractors complete the works safely, to programme and to the high standard expected by customers. You will follow up on quotations to contract award and liaise with all relevant parties as needed. Ideally you will have previous experience working in a PFI environment as one of the key contracts is a PFI contract.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Relations

oDevelop individual account management strategies for key accounts

oVisit customers regularly to be visual support for their contract

oEnsure account management strategy is delivered

oEnsure that meeting notes are circulated to the customer and the relevant internal teams

oEnsure action points agreed with the customer are implemented in a timely and effective manner

oEnsure that PPM and reactive works are delivered in a timely manner by both employees and sub contract suppliers

oBuild trust with customers to ensure that company are first choice supplier for services across all of our service lines.

Account Growth

·Identify opportunities for account growth

·Ensure that customer enquiries for any additional works are responded to swiftly

·Ensure that a customer communications plan is actively managed as part of the agreed account management strategy

·Ensure that where necessary appropriate contractors/engineers visit site to provide costing for additional works

·Ensure quotes are delivered in a timely and accurate manner and follow through to acceptance by the customer and delivery by the company

·Establish and maintain strong internal relationships with the Engineering Team and the Customer Care Team to identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and account growth

·Proactively promote all company service lines to the key account customer base.

·Engage with suppliers to build working, trustworthy relationships so that you can rely on their support

·Manage customer operational issues with the Engineering Team and suppliers to ensure that they are efficiently and effectively closed out to the satisfaction of the customer

·Ensure that customer reports are produced in a timely manner

Financial Control

·Ensure that PPM works are delivered profitably, monitor and respond to any overspend of resource or suppliers

·Manage the whole Contract Value process for key accounts

·Manage service delivery performance and make recommendations for improvement of profitability

·Ensure relevant sub contractor orders are managed effectively

·Manage contract renewals and amendments in conjunction with the Finance Team and other relevant internal members

Supply Chain

·Ensure that any new suppliers for key accounts are onboarded effectively and in a timely manner.

·Ensure that all supply chain partner personnel are fully inducted to the relevant key account customer sites

·Ensure all RAMS are provided proactively to the customer before any works commence on site

·Manage the performance of supply chain partners, in conjunction, through regular quality audits of works on site regular and performance review meetings.

You will:

Have at least five years Account/Contract Management experience within Maintenance and Facilities Management environment

Must have a strong technical understanding of M&E services and statutory compliance requirements.

The candidate must be experienced in managing a multiple customer/ multiple site account base.

In addition to ensuring high quality day to day service delivery in a safe manner, you will have a proactive approach to managing customer relationships with a view to developing account growth.

Soft Services experience highly desirable but not essential

Able to manage and motivate Engineers and Sub-contractors

Have polished client facing skills and ability to grow contracts organically

Highly motivated, and able to work in fast paced environment

Good Contracts Management skills

Commercially aware
