Pertemps Specialist Division are working with our Stirling based public sector client to recruit a Waste Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical specifications and operations processes for future bulking and counting infrastructure associated with the implementation of Scotland's Deposit Return Scheme.

Key Tasks:
  • Procurement packs for the design of counting and bulking centre sites of varying sizes. This will include building design, site layout and equipment specification.
  • Health & Safety processes for different types of sites to ensure best practice and legislative compliance in operations
  • Environmental processes for ensuring best practice and legislative compliance in operations
  • Security and data management processes to support fraud and theft prevention measure integration
  • Job descriptions and recruitment processes for staff working in operational sites including maximising opportunities for individuals from a range of background to apply
  • Training specification and, where required, resource development for staff working in operational sites
  • Key Performance Indicators for the operation of the site to support continuous improvement
  • Information required to support investment decisions including demonstrating how recommendations would deliver efficient and effective operations
Essential Criteria:
  • Experience in managing the operation of waste management facilities such as a MRF
  • Desirable experience in the design of waste management facilities such as a MRF
  • WAMITAB COTC Level 4
  • Desirable IOSH Certificate.
  • Knowledge of Deposit Return Schemes and associated infrastructure
  • Experienced user of the Microsoft Office software suite
  • Experience of developing applications for waste management site licenses
  • Experience of supporting businesses and organisations to make investment decisions
  • Knowledge of existing health & safety and environmental legislative requirements that are applicable to operational facilities
