What is the Job about?

The National Citizen Service Operations Manager is the key provider interface in the supply chain delivery for Reed in Partnership. They support the Programme Director in the implementation and ongoing management of the National Citizen Service Contract. They will act as a central point of contact in a given specific geography for providers and subcontractors, building a professional, trusting and successful relationship contributing to valuable Subcontractor provision.

Key to the role is an ability to manage complex and varying external business relationships, identify opportunities, address challenges and be able to balance the needs of Reed in Partnership and the Subcontractor or Partner.

Supplier relationship management is an essential aspect of the role and will involve continuous communication and negotiation with external and internal parties, at all levels. This includes onsite meetings and reviews with subcontractors and partners and liaising with Department Heads and the Programme Director to ensure best practice and successful provision whilst investigating new opportunities for business proposed.

The core responsibility of the Operations Manager will be to ensure through the management of a number of specialist teams that supply chain partners achieve high performance and deliver on time. They will also be required to work with the Programme Director and central Reed in Partnership resources to ensure Reed in Partnership meet the contractual requirements of the client in delivering the National Citizen Service contracts. This will include, for example, liaison with the Marketing and Communications Team to ensure young people receive regular communications.

This is not an exhaustive list and an Operations Manager will be expected to carry out any other duties as may be specified by their manager from time to time. This profile is non-contractual.

Required skills & experience:
Experience of managing performance improvement in an operational delivery business environmentExperience of using analysis to agree clear action plans internally or with other partiesPractical experience of selecting, and negotiating with other 3rd party organisations to agree service level agreements or contracts for the delivery of services. This may be either as the contracting organisation or as a supplier.Ability to be able to manage change effectively within own business and able to address complexities of change management in other organisationsAbility to performance manage multiple contracts/clients ensuring that contract or agreed terms are adhered to by both the Supply chain and Reed in PartnershipExperience of working in a proactive manner to be able to respond to urgent contract change requests whilst continuously focussing on improvementDemonstrable experience of working collaboratively, supportively and successfully with suppliers or customers to improve, maintain or recover service delivery under a contract or service level agreementExperience of conflict management and ongoing dispute resolutionExperience of engaging with a variety of seniority levels both internally and externally and across different organisationsExperience of managing negotiations to achieve positive outcomes.Experience of working with a number of clients and sharing best practice across parties where appropriateExperience of working in an office and on client site professional environment and able to give examples of exceptional leadership qualities within this environment.Experience must have been gained within a fast-paced service focussed, client or account management, target driven business environment.
