Vivate Recruitment is working with their Sister Company in the Barrow-In-Furness area. Our sister company is an award winning Global Quality Management Company providing quality solutions within the Automotive, Aerospace and manufacturing industries. We are currently seeking a Containment Technician who can provide 3rd party containment support on 'supplier liable' non conformances.

  • Provide first line support to Logistics, when suspected Supplier Quality issues are identified.
  • Agree problem cause and allocation of ownership; represent the product supplier in this agreement.
  • Work alongside clients internal functions to realise robust problem containment to protect the build facilities and minimise disruption, lead the containment process on behalf of the supplier and liaise with the supplier directly to facilitate containment checks and ensure containment is fully complete
  • Work with internal logistics to ensure affected material is quarantined and returned to the supplier as required.
  • Log all supplier quality concerns on the clients SAP system to facilitate rejection activities so stock accuracy is maintained at all times. Ensure the internal QM module with the SAP system is kept up to date
  • Provide supplier's with timely notification of problems via 8D-report request process and complaint reports.
  • Provide feedback and escalation of quality issues and supplier performance to Quality Engineers for ongoing supplier performance review and development activity.
  • Prioritisation of activities will be in accordance with the clients Quality Department objectives.
  • Develop detailed containment documentation to ensure clear communication across all global locations

Candidate Profile:
  • Must be able to clear the UK Security Check (SC) 1 and be a UK citizen.
  • ONC/OND Qualified in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic engineering or similar.
  • Two years minimum experience in a quality assurance role.
  • Good knowledge of quality standards and systems.
  • Good English and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • PC literate.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and understanding of part drawings and critical characteristics.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Able to operate flexibly with good time management skills.
