We are currently working on behalf of a High School in Burnley who are actively seeking a Teacher of Design Technology to join their team in October. This will be a temporary position initially and is suitable for NQTs & experienced Teachers.

The school is a large, popular, mixed 11 to 16 voluntary aided Roman Catholic faith school in East Lancashire. At present the school is a 'Good' school in line with Ofsted (2014) and received 'Outstanding' in the Diocese Inspection report (2015) - The Headteacher claims 'we are thoroughly enjoying our journey to becoming an outstanding school'. Behaviour is of students is good, expectations are set quite high and academic standards and outcomes are great. It is located in the centre of Burnley with excellent transport links via the local M65 motorway and close by bus and train stations.

Essential Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status
A relevant honours degreeEssential Experience:

A minimum of 1 year teaching experience
Experience of teaching up to KS3/4
An in depth knowledge of the GCSE Design Technology curriculum (Resistant Materials)
Good understanding of engaging teaching methods
Ability to engage, enthuse & motivate students
Understanding of the use of assessment for PlanningThis post is suitable for a Newly Qualified Teacher or Experienced Teacher and operates full salary portability. You must be able to provide recent reference and hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS Certificate & register this online on the update service.
