One of the team's top priorities is the development of an enterprise data lake which will serve as the engine for the company's digital transformation.The Commercial Engineering Senior Manager is responsible for the engineering of Business Intelligence (BI), data management, reporting and advanced analytics projects within the European region and on occasions, globally. This role will partner closely with regional and global Solution Engineering colleagues to successfully design, implement, and deliver multiple projects.The role requires the colleague to collaborate with the Solution Delivery (project management) teams, project client and client partners in the European region. In addition, the colleague will provide thought leadership to drive Analytics and Business Intelligence innovation and new ways of working as well as partner with other teams to advance Analytics and Business Intelligence capabilities in the region.The position is part of a growing team where teamwork is paramount and involves working closely with the Solution Delivery team, and other Chief Digital Office organisations, to provide our colleagues with trusted and innovative solutions that empower them to draw business insights from data, to improve patient lives, deliver new medicines and pioneering care for the people who rely on us.Most of the time, this position will require independent working and management of third-party partners/vendors within the portfolio of assigned projects, to engineer and implement high quality solutions to uncover insights with real business value in alignment with Pfizer's and the region's business and technology strategies.Primary Responsibilities:Reporting to the Europe Regional Commercial Lead, the Senior Manager Commercial Engineering will be responsible for delivering all analytical and data related solutions to Pfizer's commercial business units in Europe. This role has regional solution and design responsibility, ensuring that the digital data solutions are consistent regionally and globally. The role will coordinate solution design and implementation across Europe, including:Partner with regional and global Solution Engineering colleagues to manage and be responsible for the technical design and technical implementation of a portfolio of smaller or a number of large/complex projects Business Intelligence (BI), data management, reporting and advanced analytics projects in region, that maximise the value from data in answering business questions that accelerate the building of a healthier world and improve patient livesResponsible for technical planning, data & architecture design, data modelling, technical implementation and the communication of technical progress to key stakeholdersWork with the business, stakeholders and partners/vendors to capture key requirements, translate them into projects in alignment using Pfizer's approved standards & architecture and seek approval for projects following the standard governance processes. Where appropriate, conduct prototyping and innovation sessions that will accelerate the development commercial analytics and insights and can build competitive advantage and provide game-changing innovationWork collaboratively with ATP Platform team for platform and infrastructure enablement, including platform/tool selections, architecture, estimation and technical solution designWork collaboratively with the ATP Service Operations, ATP Solution Delivery, ATP Platform and other Chief Digital Office teams to deliver viable technical solutions through building relationshipsServe as the first technical escalation and resolution point for all engineering phases of assigned projectsMaintain solid customer engagement with key stakeholders, including business, Global Commercial Operations and Chief Digital Office colleagues through a culture of high performance, transparency and continuous improvementAssist in the creation of thought leadership materials to drive BI innovation and technical roadmaps.Partner with other enabling functions (e.g. Global Commercial Operations) to advance BI capabilities in the regionEducation & Experience:Minimum undergraduate degree in either a technical or a relevant discipline (e.g.: computer science, information systems, engineering)Graduate degree in either a technical or management discipline is preferredStrong experience in Business Intelligence (BI), data management, reporting and advanced analytics solution engineering experience in large organizations, engineering a portfolio of smaller projects in parallel or several large/complex projects, both in traditional waterfall and agile approachesExperience in engineering BI cloud-based solutions e.g. cloud-based data and analytics native PaaS components in AWS, Azure, Google CloudExperience of traditional data management, analytics and BI technology stacks (e.g. Informatica, Business Objects, Teradata, SQL) and/or (e.g. AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Jenkin, Ansible, Git, Alation, Tableau, Dataiku)Experience of management consultancy is preferableExperience in developing and socialising business cases with both technical and non-technical audiencesKnowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, preferably Commercial or sales and marketingFunctional and Technical Skill Requirements:Generic skills:Technical project managementSupplier/Vendor managementConsultancy/FacilitationInnovation with changing business requirements and navigating ambiguityInterpersonal skills:Ability to work independently (self-starter) and as part of a teamExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal), including clearly articulate complex topics and deliver persuasive argumentWorking in a complex matrix organizationTechnical and Engineering skills:Ability to architect & design data models and solutionsData Integration, Data Warehousing & Reporting (Informatica, Business Objects, Teradata, SQL)Cloud based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Hadoop, Jenkin, Ansible, Git, Alation, Tableau, Dataiku)Information Architecture & Data GovernanceFuture customer, industry and information technology trendsOccasional travel may be requiredThis role closes on the 30th September#LI-PFE Pfizer is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable equal employment opportunity legislation in each jurisdiction in which it operates.
