The scope of the team extends over software testing, application validation both on vehicle and in simulated environments. This role is hands on and you will participate in and lead the test activities.Job DescriptionLeading the service bay diagnostic tool simulation & test teamDefine test strategies for the Diagnostic software and data used in the off-board testerPlanning test and validation activities based upon software requirements documentation and intended software release planWorking with the diagnostic development team to agree test requirementsCreation and maintenance of test plansExecution of test plans on dealer representative hardware:Verification of correct tool diagnostic tool operationAcceptance testing of the diagnostic tool release packageDrive the usage of multiple test platforms within the team:Vehicle based testingECU / Module based testingSimulator (VSI) based testingAutomated testing (Ranorex etc.)Reporting status of the teams testing activities & identified issuedWorking with the software development team to investigate and resolve issuesQualificationsEssentialDegree or equivalent in an Engineering/Science disciplinePrevious experience leading teams in a technical environmentProven experience in software testing, knowledge of automated test tools, experience of test designUse of issue tracking system, e.g. JIRASW/Script development skills: e.g. Python, Lua, JavascriptProficiency in Microsoft packages i.e. Project, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, WordPrevious experience creating & delivering concise technical reports to upper management and technical expertsFluent EnglishFull UK driving licenseDesirable:Formal testing qualification such as ISTQB / ISEB CTFLExperience/Knowledge with vehicle & diagnostics communication protocols (ISO-15765 / ISO-14229 / ISO-13400)Automotive diagnostics data knowledge (ECU diagnostics data)Use of network analysis tools such as CANalyzerExperience with software automation tools Ranorex or SeleniunKnowledge/Understanding of programming languages C Language / Javascript / XMLUse of version control System - e.g. SVNAdditional InformationYour future career offers you:Competitive salary and pension, flexible worktime options, employee discounts including various sports and health opportunities, urban infrastructures, on-site parking and access to local public transport, catering facilities, room for creativity and many opportunities for personal and professional developmentJob SummaryMilburn Hill Rd, Coventry CV4, UK
