Job Profile SummaryThe Quality Manager will lead quality management for the GPO North Sea Subsea and Decomissioning (NSSD) with overarching accountability for GPO NSSD activity. Driving compliance with BP's quality management process. The Quality Manager will manage quality in design, engineering, supplier quality, equipment manufacturers, fabrication, and delivery to Projects. The QM will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the NS quality plan and applying this to each project in the portfolio. Reports to the NS Engineering Manager with a matrix, dotted functional reporting line to the GPO Director of Quality.

Role SynopsisThe Quality Manager (QM) will lead quality management for the GPO North Sea Subsea and Decommissioning (NSSD) with overarching accountability for GPO NSSD activity and will drive compliance with BP's quality management process. The QM will manage quality in design, engineering, supplier quality, equipment manufacturers, fabrication, and delivery to Projects. The QM will be responsible for establishing and maintain the NS quality plan and ensuring its application to each project in the portfolio. Key Accountabilities:Leads the NSSD quality team and develops a Quality OrganizationAuthors the Quality Plan for the GPO NSSD. Partners with and solicits input from Engineering, Resource, Operations, Procurement, Project Services, Construction and Commissioning.Has authority over decisions regarding the validation and fulfilment of quality and engineering requirements. May include the management of Independent Verification Bodies (IVB)Functionally manages the NSSD quality professionals and overall quality staffing plan. Implement processes and/or Work Instructions that provide detail explanation for delivering checks, validations, witness, and verifications as required by the assurance activityApply and agree specifications, test/acceptance criteria and surveillance standards, for all project systems and components from the BP Engineering Manager, Discipline Engineers and Technical AuthoritiesDevelop a review & verification process of the EPMS/EPC Contractor generated Inspection & Test, surveillance and audit plans Ensure appropriate risk-based audit procedures are in place across the entire supply chain regarding quality plans, quality control processes, surveillance, factory acceptance test and vendor spot checksCreate quality KPIs and NSSD metrics to capture and relay critical information to NSSD project personnel regarding QA activitiesDevelop and implement a corrective action process that identifies, documents, and resolves all issues pertaining to fulfilling quality requirementsImplement and manage the quality records and documentation process across the entire NSSD supplier & projectInterface with SCM to ensure QA requirements are clear and unambiguous in contracts with vendorsManage relevant issues regarding quality across the entire supply chainNetwork with the GPO Quality Community of Practice to ensure standardization of QA processes, procedures, and standards are consistentInterface with the Project's EM to ensure standards, specifications, and test/acceptance criteria are consistent with existing engineering Develops team budgets, reports on budget statusIdentifies team training requirements Essential Experience & Job requirements:An understanding of the major project stage-gate governance processesExperience with developing a project quality program for a multi-disciplined projectExperience supervising teams performing QA/QC activities and third-party inspectionsDetailed understanding of developing Inspection and Test Plans for service and products based on criticality and supply chain risksAbility to lead Quality Audits on contractors, suppliers and engineering companiesSelf-motivation, high initiative, and effective influencing, verbal and written skills are essentialEssential EducationA minimum of a bachelor's degree or the equivalent UK Degree
