My client is a global rotating equipment OEM and aftermarket provider for the oil and gas industry. As a Principle Engineer you will lead/advise on production of engineering drawings, specifications and bill of materials for the manufacture/assembly of components and to develop/issue documentation to support the client. You will lead on production issues and both OE and Aftermarket projects. You will need to be a technical expert on Pumps and API 610.

If you have not worked with multistage pumps and API 610 unfortunately your application will be considered.

Required experience/knowledge

API 610 Pump Products - multistage pumps
Engineering Design Principle
Working knowledge and application of ASME III Pressure Vessel Design Rules and familiarity with ASME III rules on materials, fabrication, NDE, testing and quality requirements
Awareness in the application of other regulatory standards and design codes for pressure boundary components and other international engineering guidelines relative to the pumping industry, including material selection.
Quality Standards
Knowledge of pump design fundamentals, operation and maintenance.
Knowledge of the interaction between bought-in components and pump equipment / system.
Practical knowledge and experience in mechanical assemblies and packaging of equipment.
To be aware of the importance of relevant time, cost, quality and planning factors involved in engineering projects
Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in pump engineering and/or technical management of rotating machinery
Exposure to pump operation and testing
Summary of Role

Responsible for the engineering of components and assemblies for pump sets and their ancillary equipment.
Assess and understand client specifications and apply regulatory and international standards.
Carry out detailed calculations on pressure boundary, support structure and rotating components and assemblies.
Create technical specifications for the procurement of sub-supplier equipment and to liaise with customers and suppliers on technical matters

Responsibilities (including skills, experience etc)

Analysis of pump and ancillary components and structures for stress and distortion due to internal loadings, external loadings and thermal effects. Carry out drive train rotor analyses including torsional and lateral critical speed calculations.
Create technical specifications for the procurement of sub-supplier equipment ensuring specification compliance and practical engineering is accommodated. Liaise with customers and suppliers worldwide on technical matters, ensuring specification compliance, integrity of interfacing information and sound engineering practice is being applied.
Ensure timely implementation of all design/technical requirements to satisfy project goals.
Compilation and reporting of progress relating to Design Activities, Design reviews, Engineering Specifications and Reports.
Ensuring that all actions are completed on relevant projects
Contribute to continual improvement process.

Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering, preferable Degree in Mechanical Engineering
