Role: CNC Turner x2

* Rate: £12.50 per hour - 17.00 per hour (inc shift allowance)

* Global Precision Engineering company supplying into the Nuclear and O&G industries

* Location: West Yorkshire

The Opportunity

We currently have two opportunities for CNC Turners to join a global company with a vast history of supplying a number of key critical industries with specialist high performance sealing products using state of the art technology and exotic materials.

The Role

As the CNC Turner, you will report into the Department Supervisor/ Machine Coordinator and will carry out the following duties:

* Setting and operating a range of CNC Lathe machines (using Fanuc controls) for the manufacture of high precision components to tolerances within -/+ 0.02 micron.

* To maximise production, whilst ensuring good material utilisation, high levels of quality and minimum set up time are achieved.

* All products are manufactured efficiently and at a rate comparable with prescribed production rates

* Product is manufactured to meet customer delivery schedule.

* Effective and efficient use of all materials.

* Adhere to the company quality system; ensuring manufactured product is of highest quality.

* Comply with companies H&S Policy.

* Manage work schedule minimising set-up time.


In order to be successful in this position as a competent CNC Turner, you will have the following skills and experience;

* Experience of operating CNC machines - Siemens/ Fanuc machine controls beneficial

* Machining thin-walled components

* Experience of working with Exotic materials such as Inconel 625, 825 and 718

* Small to large diameter machining

* Dexterity and mechanical aptitude

* Be able to demonstrate knowledge of imperial and metric measurements.

* Be able to use measuring equipment such as Vernier's and micrometers

* Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and be detail-oriented, flexible and self-motivated.

* Knowledge of engineering processes or demonstrable ability to learn.

* Experience of Six Sigma and 5S standard

* Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience.

This is a full-time position with training and development built in to upskill engineers to a higher level of skill. All engineers who join the business will work days and will spend a period of 4 months learning about the products, processes and customer they are providing. Once confident in the role, Engineers are provided the opportunity to work on a nightshift which carries a higher Shift allowance (20%).

Day shift

06:00 - 18:00 (12 hour) - 3 days on, 3 days off rotation
