As a leading software FTSE250 business are currently looking to add a skilled and experienced Change Manager to our expanding team based out of Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. This is an opportunity for you to work at the forefront of one of the most innovative projects ever undertaken that is genuinely at the cutting-edge of modern software solutions development - you will be part of an RPA team that has gone from 10 to 100 in 2019 alone!

As automation becomes critical to business delivery replacing headcount and providing essential assurance processes the service needs to be highly available with a robust Transition path to live leading into a support model aligned to business requirements. A failure of the automation service would likely be commercially and reputationally damaging. The service will need to be agile, delivering change rapidly with minimum disruption so a DevOps approach will be used. The service will be delivered in partnership with a combination of internal and external service partners as well as in-house automation support.

What you'll do:
  • This is a critical position within RPA Support team. The RPA Change & Release Manager will work alongside the Development team through all phases of the delivery lifecycle to ensure that any RPA Service releases are planned & scheduled through change into release into the production environment. The change/release function will need to support a DevOps environment and support continues delivery whilst maintaining governance, control and function without the use of a standard CAB. The other part of this role will also build the functionality to manage change for emergency type scenarios should they occur on the back of break/fix type incidents.
  • You will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the platform for multiple RPA bots across various service portfolios.
  • You will be the single point of contact for change management across the automation department and face out to all business units. Making change across circa 50 business units is critical, standardising as much of a process is the critical success factor however designing processes and making them work for each business unit so the ability to design and build process in a change arena will also be key.
  • You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments
  • You will own the change/release function that works collaboratively with all participants in RPA automation development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments
  • Develop & maintain forward Plan the release windows and cycles across RPA portfolio.
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the RPA Pipeline
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, test plans, schedule, and scope changes
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
  • Conduct Change/Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans
  • Change/Release Reporting


What you will need:
  • You will ideally be someone who has been a senior Change Manager in a B2B environment with the ability to not just run a Change function but also develop it and mature it to make it work across multiple business units while keeping it as standardised as possible.
  • You'll hold an ITIL v3 certification.
  • You will have had exposure to RPA (Desirable)
  • You will have experience in a DevOps Change & Release environment
  • You can demonstrate exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Have good planning and scheduling skills.
  • Show enthusiasm and a real passion for the role with an attitude to enable change.
  • You can provide examples of handling conflicting and changing priorities whilst still meeting deadlines.
  • You will have had exposure to RPA (Desirable)
