Located in the heart of Liverpool city centre, my client is a globally renowned Accountancy and Business Advisory Firm that offers a range of specialist services to a varied portfolio of clients worldwide. With exciting and extensive growth plans in place, this market leading firm are now looking to expand their Liverpool office further and have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Compliance Associate to join their Tax department in a varied and interesting role.

This is a compliance focused role in which the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and quality checking any tax related work completed by the team, assisting with the day to day running of the department and administering work flow tools.

As this is a specialist level role, my client requires a candidate with proven experience in people management, with a background in reviewing and quality checking high volumes of work. Experience working with VAT, personal tax and corporation tax will also be beneficial.

The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing and QA of personal, corporate and VAT tax returns processed by the tax hub team
  • Team management responsibility, including coaching and feedback. Day to day management.
  • Allocate work to team members using proprietary workflow tool
  • Provide cover for the Tax Hub Supervisor during holidays and absences
  • Monitor throughput, productivity and accuracy of team members' output
  • Embed a continuous improvement ethic through effective monitoring and route cause analysis of errors and omissions
  • Work extensively with tax software and workflow tools
  • Deliver QA outputs to agreed timescale, quality and volume

Essential Requirements are:
  • Experience in a similar compliance, reviewing, quality assurance role is highly desirable
  • An understanding of VAT, personal tax and corporation tax will be extremely beneficial
  • Candidates who have completed or are studying towards the ATT qualification will also be considered
  • Ability to lead a team and provide feedback where required
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Good time management, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and complete tasks with limited supervision
