Job purpose:

The post holder will be involved in the processing of grant and supplier payments and supporting the administration of payroll function.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • The receipt, review and timely payment of all grant payments requested
  • Liaison with grant processing departments about the payment of grants
  • Data entry on spreadsheets
  • Input and checking of payroll data
  • Match purchase invoices to orders
  • Code invoices to their respective accounts in finance system
  • Input invoices onto the accounting system
  • Deal with queries from suppliers and grantees
  • General filing and administration within the Finance team

Required Knowledge:
  • A working knowledge of SUN accounting package would be an advantage
  • A knowledge of CIPHR or any payroll processing software would also be an advantage

Requirements:
  • Demonstrable experience of a computerised purchase ledger or payroll environment or an accounting qualification such as AAT (Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping)
  • Ability to understand and deal with numerical data
  • A good team member who will play a full and co-operative role within the office and liaise effectively with regional offices
  • Able to prioritise a variety of tasks and deliver work to agreed deadlines
  • Good working knowledge of Excel/Office 365
