Infrastructure Manager / IT Manager / Group IT Manager

Infrastructure Manager
£40,000 - £50,000 + Car Allowance

The Group Infrastructure Manager will lead the infrastructure team to ensure all target system service levels are maintained, that infrastructure changes or projects are delivered in a timely fashion, and that the Groups infrastructure is complaint with agreed security policies. You will play a pivotal role in the helping the Head of Group IT design the IT strategy.

Your new role
Ensure the helpdesk SLA is adhered to by setting work priorities across all members of the infrastructure function
Manage the delivery of updates and changes to existing systems by the infrastructure team
Be a point of escalation for service issues, raising items with third party suppliers
Own the incident management process
Own the technical relationship with key third party suppliers.
Assist the Information Security Manager with a regular programme of penetration testing of all environments
To lead technical workstreams for IT projects and deliver work packages within defined timescales
Assist the Head of Group IT with due diligence assessments on prospective acquisitions, focusing on current infrastructure, systems and associated third party systems.
Provide ongoing coordination between the Partner business and strategic software house throughout migration Assist with data transfer and establishment of MI reporting
Identify training requirements and coordinate training plans with Systems Support Team
Foster close working relationships with the key software house suppliers
Perform impact analysis of the blueprint on partner businesses, including licensing, infrastructure, DR and security implications
Define the cloud infrastructure roadmap, and work with the IT infrastructure team to deliver a phased and controlled implementation

Key Competencies and Skills Required
Proactive self-starter who can identify problems and offer solutions and options
Technically competent and has presence to quickly create credibility amongst senior stakeholders
Uses initiative and drive to navigate both internally and externally to get things done
Has relevant IT management experience
Effective team player but also able to self-motivate and operate independently
Highly organised, good attention to detail and works with pace
Enthusiastic, adaptable and willing to learn

Technical Knowledge and Understanding
Ability to lead a technical function composed of helpdesk engineers and third line support personnel
Experience of the implementation and operation of Microsoft Azure and Office 365 platforms would be an advantage
Experience of working and managing relationships between software house and customer
Experience of designing system infrastructure around specific business needs
Good understanding of all major elements of the IT systems landscape including networking, telephony, operating systems, application servers, firewalls, mobile devices
Adept at using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and Project
