The Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Early Years practitioner/ Assistant to work in a two-form entry primary school in Coventry.

Working alongside a supportive leadership team and a friendly pool of co-workers, you will be responsible for providing care for children from 2 to 3 years of age. You will assist in many aspects of their daily lives, through social, emotional, educational and practical interaction, nurturing and guidance alongside the class teacher.

Helping to oversee, maintain and organise a clean, tidy, child-friendly environment, supervise activities, such as messy play, crafts, cooking, reading and outdoor/physical pursuits and classroom learning.

The School

This Primary School is a very happy and busy school - there is always so much going on! The school is in an exciting place in its development. As part of an expansion project across Coventry, they are increasing pupil numbers - moving from admitting 45 children on role each year to an increase of 60 children. In September 2017, the school opened a new preschool providing a teacher led early years provision for two and three years old which also includes before and after school care. They are a forward-thinking school, always striving for improvement and seeking new and exciting initiatives for the best outcomes for children.

What we're looking for

Ideally suitable candidates for this role must have experience of working effectively with both young people of an Early Years age and their parents/carers. Previous school experience is desirable but not essential.

We are seeking candidates with excellent communication skills who can form and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of young people and their families, well developed listening skills, and exceptional organisational skills to meet potentially conflicting deadlines and work without close supervision. Working in a team collaboratively to share ideas and achieve objectives is also a must for this role.
