Salary: £45,099 to £55,121 (£54,117 - £66,143 for London) base salary, plus significant annual personal bonus %, 13% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

This is an exciting time to join us as we are in the middle of a three-year programme to transform the way we buy goods and services, and how we source and manage suppliers, underpinned by market-leading technology. We are asking all colleagues to get involved and to be a part of this change, and you can also help us to get to the right solutions. In this key role you'll:
  • Contribute to the development of category strategies, delivering specific sourcing initiatives to drive the effective supply of services to LBG and management of the cost base.
  • Lead initiatives with clients that drive effective spend management through demand management, simplifying specifications and achieving business outcomes.

What will your accountabilities be?
  • Input into category and sub-category strategies reflecting external market conditions whilst optimising the cost of ownership to deliver sustainable strategic direction for the business
  • Deliver opportunities that drive down costs in delivering our service through the identification of opportunities, delivering savings targets in line with the Group's objectives
  • Develop effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to increase their awareness of sourcing and support for sourcing initiatives
  • Help to identify best practices, ascertain customer's future requirements and where appropriate, respond to changes in the internal and external business environment to secure best value from third party expenditure
  • Lead cross functional teams through the sourcing process leveraging economies of scale through robust contract negotiations, supplier selection and management of the commercial aspects of the 3rd party supplier relationships
  • Apply knowledge of contractual terms and conditions ensuring appropriate risk mitigation embedded into supply contracts to provide high quality services to the Group
  • Work collaboratively with the supplier management teams to develop and implement the appropriate supplier governance structure ensuring effective contract handover
  • Report and track financial benefits versus pipeline and targets, identifying potential risks

What do you need to be considered for this job?
  • Degree-education preferred, but not essential
  • Procurement proficient (e.g. CIPS qualification)
  • Experience of leading a cross-functional team to deliver financial benefits through an end-to-end strategic sourcing process
  • Evidence of constructively challenging and influencing stakeholders to deliver the best outcome
  • Ability to negotiate and draft contracts
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and key suppliers
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to demonstrate independent working.
