The responsibilities of the Quality Manager will be as follows:-
Risk Assurance:
Support the control of risk within Project Product Introduction and Method changes:
Compilation / monitoring of FMEA , R & R, and PPAP Documentation (inc. acting as PPAP Coordinator)
Compile and submit FAIR's ( Stage 1 /2 - Risk Based) for customer approval (using Visual FAIR)
Manage non-conformance in accordance with Company and Customer procedures
Product and Manufacturing Support:
Data capture and analysis, bringing about improvements based upon numerate data.
Disposition of NCR's, FAIR approvals, OFI Identification, Customer Issues, Training of Inspection Personnel, Improvement activities (inspection and process related).
Embedding Change management processes using structured risk assessments and validation.
Effective Control /raising of EQN, FPA's (PAR) DAR's etc. CAR's (supplier issues & improvement activities)
Interface with Internal and External customers & suppliers on quality issues.
Contributing to the reduction of scrap, rework and non-value added costs.
Supporting / leading 8D exercises multi-disciplined teams.
Disposition and management of Customer complaints and defective product via PIR, 8D etc.
Completion of Internal Product, process, RFT Audits and External Supplier Audits / CAR Follow ups as required.
The qualifications / skills required for the Quality Manager are as follows: -
-Degree qualified or HND educated within an engineering or manufacturing discipline or equivalent experience
- Strong Project Quality Management background using APQP, PPAP, FMEA etc.
- Thorough understanding of product quality statistical methods (MSA, Gauge R&R, SPC, Six-Sigma etc.)
-Proven experience of engaging with, and empowering personnel, demonstrating the ability to ensure Quality strategies are embraced and driven across the business
-Designing and implementing measurement systems across the business to track continuous improvement
-Management of the Quality Engineering function
-The ability to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing background
-Excellent communication and IT skills
