Make your own mark; lead the design of world-class hydrogen systems.

This isn't your average mechanical design job. Not only will you have the control to design the integration of the system, but you'll also be working directly with the Design Manager to learn highly valuable engineering skills and ways of solving problems.

The company is small and growing. There are two current projects at £750,000 and £1m in value. You'd start with these two projects, but there are many more in the pipeline. The future of hydrogen as a fuel is without question. The size of these projects means you can take ownership of them and create a design process to be used for future builds.

You innovate, invent, push your knowledge and test your skills. You enjoy a culture which doesn't drag you down with rules, but one that gets you thinking practically and creatively.

You'll be doing:

* Design of hydrogen-based equipment including refuelers, fuel storage and installations.

* Complete supporting calculations which will include, flow, pressure, structural, heat transfer calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

* 3D CAD Design.

* Working with controls and electrical engineers to support the complete system design.

* Preparation of part specifications and the procurement of parts.

* Preparation of technical file documentation and Operation & Maintenance manuals

* Ensure that the H&S, quality and environmental procedures are followed

* Maintain the project PED and HAZOP documentation.

* Reporting to Operations Manager of any incidents, spillages etc that occur.

You'll need a mechanical engineering background with proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD. You'll also be comfortable working with fluids and pressures. Some knowledge of pressure vessels would be very helpful. Many of the problems are practical so experience with materials, metalwork and manufacturing is very useful.

Whilst it would be great if you had experience working with Autodesk Inventor 3D, this is not essential.

Even if you don't have an up-to-date CV apply and we'll walk you through it
