The associated implementation programme will cover all aspects of modernising and developing capabilities, including: introducing new facilities, refurbishment of existing facilities and developing modern working practices. An opportunity exists to join the ETE and Land Investments Delivery Team, specifically supporting the Land Investments Programme. You will be responsible for a number of Projects and tasked with ensuring our commitment to our internal and external stakeholders are met. Our projects have a diverse and complex stakeholder community, both internal and external to the company. Delivery through others is essential and ability to assemble the best team from not only in QinetiQ but wider industry is paramount.Key Accountabilities: - Lead and bring together a high performing team from across the company and wider industry to deliver a suite of projects to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction;- Engender a vibrant and inclusive team dynamic, fostering a 'can do' approach; - Pro-active Stakeholder management and relationship building; - When requested, develop clear and compelling customer proposals; - Open, accurate and timely project reporting, both to internal management and external customers; - Management and control of project financial expenditure within authorised budget and in line with the QinetiQ delegations matrix.Core Competencies: - Ability to decompose complex issues, to an appropriate level of detail, in a methodical manner (essential); - First-hand experience of procurement and tendering processes (e.g. the production of specifications, definition of supplier selection criteria and contracting) (essential); - Knowledgeable in risk management with an understanding of mitigation strategies (essential); - Experience of systems engineering discipline, and the role it plays in the project lifecycle (essential); - Capable of acting as an effective team member at all levels (essential); - Excellent written, presentational and verbal communication skills (essential); - Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office products; particularly Project, Outlook; Excel, PowerPoint and Word (essential); - Working knowledge and experience of SAP for project reporting and procurement (desirable); - Working knowledge and experience of PPM for project forecasting (desirable).Personal Qualities Required: - Can do attitude, goal focused and a propensity to find solutions rather than issues; - Drive and determination to achieve successful project delivery; - Present a proactive and dynamic professional attitude to internal and external customers; - Open, honest, enthusiastic team member with good written, presentational and verbal communication skills; - Sets a positive example to peers and junior team members. Background: - Minimum of 3 years (5 years desirable) within an Engineering and / or Project Management environment (essential); - Experience of systems engineering and its application to successful project delivery (essential); - Experience in Energetics / Estates Capital Investments or other closely related sectors (essential); - Technical knowledge of Military Weapons Programmes (desired);Qualifications: - Degree (or equivalent experience) in appropriate discipline. - Hold a recognised PM qualification (APMP or Prince2).
