Reports directly to the CI Team Leader with dotted line to the Production Manager. Leads value stream CI initiatives through Lean manufacturing disciplines. With the support and guidance of the CI Leader and the Executive Steering Committee (ESC), develops and implements a strategic plan for continuous improvement of the value stream. Supports Lean Manufacturing skills development by educating associates and engaging them in improvement projects. Co-ordinates and facilitates Lean Blitzes / CI Events to eliminate waste, reduce product cost and improve business performance. Ensures the integration of the CI plan with plant level goals and objectives.


·Coordinates with Franklin Lakes Market Platform Leaders to develop plans for, coordinate, and ensure ongoing value stream improvement over time.

·Integrates activities with other Preanalytical Systems unit-level functions, including Operations, ReLoCo, Continuous Improvement, Quality, and Regulatory.

·Communicates activities with other PAS manufacturing sites to share Best Practices.

·Serves as the Plant's Product and Process Subject Matter Expert.

·Owns Product CI and ReLoCo responsibility for the Plant.

·Coordinates with Production Managers to develop CI budgeted cost reductions.

·Responsible for ensuring CI Cost of Goods Manufactured Goal is achieved.

·Leads the strategic planning activity around value stream continuous improvement as well as developing and executing the implementation plan for that strategy.

·Works directly with functional managers to identify value stream CI opportunities.

·Responsible for ensuring value stream team members receive the necessary education and training in the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools aimed at the achievement of CI objectives.

·Coordinates and facilitates CI blitzes and projects.

·Maintains current state and future state value stream maps.

·Coordinates with Finance to ensure that value stream CI improvements are tracked, monitored, and trended for an appropriate time period to determine performance to expectations.

·Ensures ongoing progress and adequate resources are in place to achieve goals.

·Reports results regularly to the ESC.

  • Experience in lean manufacturing is essential and must have a proven track record in implementing change. Will also have experience in operations, engineering or quality.
  • Must have knowledge of lean concepts, Six Sigma methodology, validation processes.

  • Degree in engineering or science based discipline preferred
  • Lean Leader trained or equivalent

  • Individuals have the authority to execute all responsibilities detailed within their job description and any procedures or processes in C2C or otherwise.
