Site Reliability Engineer/DevOps Engineer

Salary- Up to £50,000

Location: Nottingham

Job Type: Permanent

I have been approached to help recruit a driven and talented Site Reliability Engineer otherwise known as a DevOps Engineer.


Our client is on an exciting growth trajectory which has prompted the need for this newly created Site Reliability Engineer role. Leading software house for the financial sector, with a strong UK presence based in the central Nottingham.

The Role:

You'll play a fundamental role within the technology team and overall business and will be integral in ensuring the stability of our infrastructure, websites, platforms and systems.
  • Ensuring all infrastructure, sites and services remain available and performant through a combination of monitoring, alerting and automated deployment and recovery
  • Working with development teams to ensure non-functional operational requirements in software delivery are included
  • Solving problems relating to mission critical production services and building automation to prevent problem recurrence
  • Oversight of incident management and taking proactive measures to prevent potential future incidents
  • Engaging in capacity planning, software performance analysis and system tuning, ensuring production is as good as it gets!
  • Creating and maintaining test and production environments in Azure through Terraform and PowerShell DSC

The Person:

You will be a confident, self-starter who is able to liaise with key stakeholders at all levels throughout the business. High attention to detail and dedication to quality is a must. You should have excellent communication skills and astounding troubleshooting skills. You'll be experienced in producing clear and concise documentation. You will also need to have solid working experience in:
  • Monitoring (Datadog, Elastic Stack, Azure LAWS)
  • Azure (Iaas and Paas)
  • PowerShell and Powershell DSC
  • Networking

It would be highly advantageous if you also had experience in:
  • Terraform
  • DNS
  • Certificates
  • Windows, IIs, GPO
  • RabbitMQ

You should also be proactive, able to lead projects and take the initiative, and although this will predominately be an autonomous role, you should be an all-round team player,
