Dandserv are currently looking for an Administrator/ Bookkeeper for a client based in Hillington Industrial Estate for a 2-3month temporary contract.

Job purpose:

To provide support and administration serviced to the company in such a way as to ensure that the firm's clients and service propositions are delivered in an efficient and robust way.

To enter clients bookkeeping entries and maintain these records in such a way as to ensure that the firm's clients and service propositions are delivered in an efficient and robust way, whilst maintaining, profitability and operational effectiveness.

Relevant Skills and Knowledge
  • Able to communicate verbally and via written media.
  • Willing to undertake training and development as defined by their training plan to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Time and task management skills
  • Able to compile and check spelling and grammar within letters and other formal written communications.
  • Numerate and able to process accounts daybook transactions, payroll and journals in line with basic accounting and relevant taxation principals.
  • Appreciates need for consistency within operations, especially systems and procedures
  • Able to manage ones self in a service focused firm
  • IT literate
  • Able to utilise word and excel at intermediate
  • Must be a competent writer of basic e-mail and requests for information from clients.
  • Ideal background would have an HND or above in accounting or related area and have at least one years practical experience of the input of day book entries, processing payroll and preparing and entering journals into a computerised accounting system.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
  • To act as the firms receptionist and direct calls to staff in an effective and appropriate manner.
  • To provide additional adhoc administrative duties as required by their colleagues.
  • Assist with the bookkeeper for the firm's clients
  • To collate and and assist with data input of client information into the firms computerised systems to deal promptly with all associated communications and tasks.
  • Ensure that all client records, electronic or paper based, are maintained and updated to a high standard
  • Ensure that the agreed Client and service propositions are being fully delivered.
  • Follow procedures and templates to ensure that tasks are completed in an efficient manner

The role would suit someone who has just completed their HND in either Business administration or accounting or someone with experience in a similar role.
