Additional Learning Support Manager

Morgan Hunt are recruiting for an Additional Learning Support Manager to work at an FE college based in Somerset on a 1-month Temp basis starting ASAP

Duties of an Additional Learning Support Manager would consist of:
  • Act as Deputy to the Head of Student Services in matters related to Additional Learning Support and Inclusion.
  • Line manage all Learning Support Assistants and ALS centre staff members
  • Produce Self-Assessment and Quality Assurance reports on these activities as required
  • Contribute to the Student Support and College SAR
  • Undertake Staff Development and training as required to fulfil these roles.
  • Show an awareness of, and compliance with, all college policies and procedures, particularly those relating to Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities. 6

Additional Learning Support Manager must have:
  • Level 3 qualification or higher in a learning difficulties/disabilities related qualification
  • Management or Supervision qualification
  • At least 5 years' experience of working with learners with learning difficulties/disabilities
  • Robust understanding of the support needs of learners with LDD
  • Experience of leading a team in an education setting
  • Communicating appropriately with learners with LDD
  • Understanding of ALS funding
  • Understanding of key legislation

Additional Learning Support Manager Desirable:
  • SENCO qualified
  • A Level 7 Diploma
  • SENCO experience
  • Worked in a Post 16 environment
  • Experience of working with county councils and other external parties
