Why is our Senior Financial Analyst role right for you?
Within the Payments Industry, interchange rates are determined by the card schemes however it is not as simple as a "1 size fits all" charge. Many factors influence the applicable interchange charge that is applied to a transaction such as the country of card issuance, country of the retailer, transaction method etc. and frequent updates announced by the Card Schemes have to be taken into consideration from an impact perspective. Within this role you will become a subject matter expert on all Interchange related matters.

You will be involved in updating the relevant sales teams on Interchange developments, creation of internal communications, creation and provision of interchange related analytics, and partnering with technology so updates are captured. You will also assist in overseeing the financial control processes, resolution of intolerances between our expected and actual interchange cost, as well as improving our Interchange qualification to directly improve company profitability.

What will you be doing on a day to day basis?

You will interpret and applies card brand fee costs, collaborate with pricing, finance, product and technology teams to implement new and maintain multi-currency, multi-regional card brand programs. You will plan large data updates and complex pricing changes for our UK and eComm line of business. You will collaborate with different teams from accounting, finance, IT, Operations, Global Pricing, and comfortable working through a matrixed organizational structure to proactively manage, resolve business and operational issues in an efficient, and effective manner.

You will monitor, Interpret, implement, provide interpretation of card brand programs, and will perform analysis on fees incurred including regulatory monthly/quarterly reporting. This role will require the ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems that may vary greatly based upon region, product, and quickly present findings to management on key business implications. You will identify key trends through a combination of analytics, research, discussions with business partners and proactively identify business implications of analysis. You will also produce quality reporting and analysis on business revenue, expense drivers and business financial performance results to key stakeholders for decision making.

What will make me right for this role?
You will have at least 5 years analytical experience with a particular focus on large data. You should be adept with Excel and whilst Payments sector experience is not essential, you should be familiar with working in a regulated environment and have a keen interest to become a SME in the world of Interchange within Payments. A background in finance with a commercial focus would also be advantageous.
