Elevation Recruitment Group are currently supporting a key client who are looking to bring on board a UK IT Service Manager.

Working closely with the Group IT Infrastructure Director to help shape and deliver the strategic Infrastructure roadmap. Working closely with third-party suppliers to scope and deliver key initiatives across cloud, Infrastructure, and end-user computing platforms

Key Responsibilities:
- Working with the Group Infrastructure Director to develop and implement the IT technical architecture strategy and roadmap with a primary focus on Cloud, Server and End-User Computing Technologies, however, is also expected to have a wider appreciation of all technical infrastructure.
- The IT Service Manager must ensure an ongoing full understanding and awareness of all emerging technologies, trends and existing technology roadmaps and how this impact on future design.
- Responsibility for the design and delivery of IT Cloud, Server and End-User Computing infrastructure from both internal and external suppliers, along with the communication of high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs
- In addition to technology components, infrastructure technical architecture encompasses changes to service, process, organisation, and operating models. Architecture definition must demonstrate how requirements (such as automation of business processes) are met, any requirements which are not fully met, and any options or considerations which require a business decision
-The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices (especially security) and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible
- Leads the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers
- Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality and infrastructure systems management requirements within a significant area of the organisation
- Establishes policy and strategy for the selection of infrastructure technical architecture components, and coordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency
- Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to
- Within a business change programme, manages the target design, policies, and standards, working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across projects within the programme, that can then be successfully and efficiently transitioned into live service operations
- Line management of the Cloud, Infrastructure & End User Systems team to optimise the performance of people, including determination of capabilities, integration into teams, allocation of tasks, direction, support, guidance, motivation, and management of performance

Key Experience:
-Extensive experience in the design, implementation, strategic development, along with frameworks and principles of Cloud, Server and End-User infrastructure architecture to deliver multiple IT services, in line with industry best practice
-Extensive experience of creating technical strategies, managing programme and project activity within recognised industry best practice
-Expert-level knowledge of Cloud, Server & End User Systems IT infrastructure including hardware, virtualisation, operating systems (servers and desktop incl. deployment), Identity including Single Sign-on, IAAS, PAAS SAAS, Office 365, Microsoft Azure, EMM, end-user computing, SCCM, Intune, printing
-Strong Security focus including a working knowledge of Next Generation Endpoint Security, SIEM, PAM
-Proficient level knowledge and awareness of other network and communications IT infrastructures such as SDN, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, Internet, VPN, Firewall, Monitoring, UCC, and IP Telephony
-Proficient in performing a proof of concept or prototyping exercise to demonstrate or evaluate the feasibility and potential benefits of applying a particular technology, product or toolset to meet a business need
-Proficient in methods and techniques for delivering effective presentations, either face-to-face or online, using effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
-Proficient in methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business cases, requests for proposal (RFP) invitations to tender (ITT) and statements of requirements/work both orally and in writing
