Senior Solution Design Architect - Hove - £75000

Your new role

The Senior Solution Design Architect (SSDA) , will manage and maintain a pipeline of solution design activity required to support the Technology & Transformation change and delivery portfolio. The SSDA will ensure effective solution designs are produced, tracked and managed to ensure effective delivery to agreed Technical architecture standards. The SSDA will evolve methodologies, processes, tools and techniques as part of the solution delivery team in partnership with Transformation and Architecture teams across Business Technology & Transformation (BT&T).

Principal accountabilities:

1. Responsible for ensuring solutions created, are cost-effective meet requirements from the Technical architecture and Enterprise architecture roadmaps, meet the required outcomes for the business and adhere fully to standards and quality thresholds

3. Ensure that designs meet the high-level design principles and approaches across the team & design, document and communicate high--level solution architecture required for stakeholder buy-in, governance and planning

4. Participate in relevant, forums, collaborate across the wider organisation to keep abreast of developments in design methodologies and standards and actively seek to enhance approaches within the team

5. Ensure non-functional requirements are fully captured and validate functional requirements from the customer for more traditional delivery, ensuring business objectives and the technical domain are implemented. Apply this knowledge when designing solutions and helping to shape and plan projects

6. Resolve technical blockers with other parties and design, document and communicate low-level designs to be implemented across in- house development or third party supplier

7 Ensure that approaches are developed to assist in a more model office iterative design concepts but within wider technical and enterprise architecture design principles to help delivery teams start to explore and execute without more traditional full requirements in place. Model office/ Incubator/Design factory type thinking needs to be encouraged.

8. Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes at all times. Ensure that all business processes and internal controls within your role are designed and performed in a way that delivers good customer outcomes and demonstrates effective management of Conduct Risk

What you'll need to succeed

Skills Required

  • Degree and/or MBA educated- desirable but not mandatory with a focus on suitable comparable/demonstrable role experience and capability
  • Prince2, Project management and Agile qualifications - desirable but not mandatory
  • PROSCI/Adkar & change qualifications - desirable but not mandatory
  • Regulated Industry background preference
  • Solution Design and portfolio experience with track record of effective management & reporting
  • Experience of driving and implementing consistent solution design plans across complex geographical / functional matrix organizations in line with Architecture functions and roadmaps and proven background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas
  • Proven track record of solution delivery of large, complex, change and technology initiatives with strong evidence of building effective relationships to ensure approved agreed delivery plans
  • Ensuring solution design delivery confidence across all levels with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently focusing on priorities, and managing a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative worker who freely shares their knowledge and experience with good influencing skills, ability to develop and mentor individuals
  • Develop, get buy-in and deliver approaches across the organisation and wider division and track record of building effective relationships
  • Effective at making good decisions and delivering great outcomes in in line with IT&T strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions
