Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package

This is an exciting, newly-created position that sits at the heart of our future product development programmes and will support innovation and state of the art new products into our global customer base. If you can help to identify and develop the customer's requirements to match our business capabilities and develop new products to match customer needs then this represents an opportunity where you will really be able to make your mark.

WFEL is an established world leader in the design and manufacture of tactical military bridges and their launch systems which are constructed with high integrity alloys and innovative hydraulics. We are now looking for a competent and innovative product development engineer, capable of influencing business strategic direction from a design engineering aspect.

To be successful in this role, as well as being technically strong, you will need the project management skills to lead, co-ordinate and deliver engineering work through project teams within the design project brief, meeting financial and quality targets and timescales. Your experience may have been gained in a heavy engineering environment but we are willing to consider applicants from a number of different backgrounds. This is a customer-facing role and you'll need to be comfortable working with external clients. We expect you to have a good mechanical engineering qualification which could be a ONC, HNC or a relevant degree.

With over a century of engineering excellence and innovation, WFEL is an established world leader in tactical military bridging. Our expertise includes 3D design, simulation, prototype manufacture and full-scale production of a range of state of the art, rapidly-deployable bridging systems which are used in military and disaster relief scenarios worldwide. WFEL is a Prime Contractor to the US Department of Defense and the UK Ministry of Defence.

Candidates will need to hold a full UK driving licence. They will be flexible in their approach to work and able to travel on business within the UK and abroad to visit suppliers and customers.

Please apply with a CV and provide details of your notice period, availability and salary expectations.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
