My Newton le Willows based client is one of the largest, independent and privately owned companies specialising in security solutions, facilities management, environmental protection and recruitment within the UK, Ireland and South Asia. Currently I am looking on their behalf for a Commercial Manager who is responsible for the control and commercial management of the business. Skill base requirements Experience (essential)
  • Minimum 5 years plus experience in a similar position or ideally similar service type
  • Experience in dealing with multi-accounts

Experience in complex costing and estimating

Professional Development / Qualifications - Holds appropriate / relevant qualifications

Other:
  • A master user of excel and holds other appropriate IT skills
  • Self-starter to hit the ground running
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • A "doer" who is prepared to get involved in the day to day tasks, does the "nitty gritty" and a stickler for the detail
  • Capable of analysing data and able to produce good useful reports with succinct accurate information
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks/high volume turnover of data, emails, information and reports
  • Communicates well (written and verbally) and professionally at all levels
  • A 'can do' attitude and strong engagement skill
  • A team player as well as working independently with a focus on sharing good practise
  • Great work ethic, professional, diligent and determined, possessing vision and excellent business acumen and a strategic outlook

General Responsibilities

1. Be our commercial specialist, sharing knowledge and expertise to support customers and colleagues

2. Implement robust governance and processes and oversee compliance (how we do business - Commercials)

3. Working collaboratively to understand margins, cash positions and areas to improve both.

4. People / team management

5. Commercial ownership

Tenders & Retenders (40%) Support tenders and re tender, Creation of cost models (compliant and alternative. Input and cross check input including TUPE data and Import into customer or appropriate costing templates

General queries (15%)
  • Provide costs for any current customer additional staff or service required
  • Equipment, Uniforms, consumables and material check if costed in or re-charge
  • Extra services if costed in or re-charge
  • Understand contract by contract P+L, granular detail and control margin

Budgets (5%)
  • Create, control, adjust and approve consumables budget - KONNECT

Reviews (legislative & annual) - (4%)
  • Maintaining a review calendar, Process and control, Contractual, inflation & legislation and Negotiating

Other (1%)
  • SA07 - Commercial variations to contract (control pay, charge & hours processing) - 20%
  • Commercial checks, balances and audits
  • New Business Enquiry (NBE) input checks (control pay, charge and hours processing)
  • Margin report reviews & recovery plans

Salary £30k
