This role will be based from a stunning Central London office location

Salary: £60,000 plus a 20% BONUS!

Our client is a leading global events organisation with offices in over 20 countries across the globe who are experiencing an exciting period of transformation and growth. Consequently, this role has been created to enable the support of a business segment focused on the Exhibitions that are organised around the world. This role is a critical hire for our client and will be responsible for the financial accounting and planning activity of this £50m global division.

Our client is heavily investing in their global finance team, and a key part of the role will be to build the team - this will involve the recruitment and management of two junior accountants. With the company undergoing an ERP Implementation, a critical part of the role will be to identify and drive opportunities for process and control improvement. The candidate will have full scope and support to come up with their own ideas for improvement and to then implement lasting changes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating all month end and financial reporting procedures efficiently and effectively including;
  • Liaising with Central Finance on timetables and preparing timetables for the Divisional teams
  • Preparing/overseeing monthly accruals and prepayments (with support from the Divisional Commercial Finance teams), including payroll journals
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations for review with FD
  • Aged debt provisions review (with support from Commercial Finance)
  • External auditor liaison where necessary
  • Supporting Group Tax and Treasury on any analysis by legal entity required
  • Co-ordination and preparation of the financial sections of Monthly Board packs, getting these ready for FD and MD review. This involves working with the Divisional Commercial Finance function to source and review commentary provided, and being involved in review sessions with the Divisional Managing Director
The role will also involve co-ordinating forecasting and budget cycles, including;
  • Timetabling and co-ordination of delivery of templates and materials
  • Updating of consolidated divisional templates and packs for submission (with support from Commercial Finance team)
  • Budgeting, tracking and forecasting of Divisional Overheads


In addition to the key tasks outline above, the successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Contribute key data required by the divisional Finance Director including trade debtors
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders (including Central Finance, senior members of the divisions Leadership team, HR among others)
  • Proactively identify risks and challenges to the group
  • Be part of a continuous improvement culture across finance
  • Contribute to the future design & development of the divisions finance strategy
  • Identify ways of improving how the team works

Experience & Knowledge - Essential
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Accountant (CCAB)
  • Knowledge of using MS Dynamics 365 would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to pull together and analyse data from multiple sources quickly
  • Experience in multi-national listed businesses of great benefit
