Performance Monitoring Analyst - Solar PV

Marshall Resource is working in partnership with an International provider of Operations and Maintenance services to the solar industry who are seeking trainee PV Performance Monitoring Engineer or Analyst to join the team.

My Client is a vertically integrated Operations and Maintenance specialist for utility scale ground mounted solar farms in the UK and Europe. PV Performance Monitoring Engineer/ Energy Analyst

Based at: Based in Bucks

Position reports to: Monitoring Manager

Role overview: The Performance Monitoring Engineer will be assisting in monitoring large scale solar farms, and assist in optimizing their performance

This is a new role, created to support the increased work demands of the O & M team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remote monitoring of Solar Farm, from a System perspective to individual components
  • Fault finding and reporting
  • Performance analysis and reporting
  • Comparison between Yield forecasts and measured data
  • Availability calculations
  • Creation and optimization of statistics tools like standard deviation
  • Thermographic analysis
  • Accessing and configuring web interfaces of components through VPN
  • Assisting with the monthly reports creation
  • Contractual performance targets calculation
  • Optimizations of existing systems
  • Use of CRM platform
  • Swift response to faults
  • Generating and compiling data for reporting to investors and management
  • Detailed record keeping

Skills required:
  • Engineering [Electrical or other] degree or equivalent level of qualification is required
  • Previous experience in a technical environment is highly desirable, however, training will be provided
  • Good understanding of electricity theory, calculation sheets software and computer networks
  • Previous knowledge of PV systems is highly desirable
  • Eager to learn, self-driven, focused and results oriented
  • Innovative with strong analytical skills and solutions driven
  • The ability to foster self-motivation to achieve tight deadlines
  • Computer literate.Excel
  • Clean driving license
  • happy to work weekends pro- rata
