START DATE - ASAP - our process is quick and we are looking for someone immediately

Due to the rapid growth of the B&S Group, a pharmaceutical company with offices based in London, we're looking for someone to join us on a permanent basis in house alongside our CEO as a commercial paralegal and to ensure our commercial contracts and documentation are compliant and up to date. This role would be suitable for commercial litigation paralegals or part/newly qualified legal executives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitoring of compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the business and advice to management of upcoming legislative and regulatory changes
  • Liaising with colleagues and external counsel to ensure corporate compliance with data protection legislation
  • Support in managing external counsel relationships, including managing engagement agreements and reviewing legal invoices
  • Advice to all departments on a variety of day-to-day legal issues
  • Legal administration including legal record keeping
  • In conjunction with other members of the team, assisting with new enquiries into the department, including speaking with potential clients on the telephone, and drafting emails in response to written inquiries.
  • Assistance in taking witness evidence
  • Case preparation
  • Disclosure and evidence review
  • Assisting with checks on potential clients, drafting engagement letters and opening new files.
  • Researching points of law and other factual issues, through the use of online resources, textbooks and other appropriate sources
  • Proof reading and checking forms and documents for accuracy.
  • Assisting with the general administration including filing, scanning and photocopying.
  • Any other duties as and when required

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

·Previous experience as a litigation paralegal

·Experience of civil procedure (preferably high court)

·General civil litigation law knowledge is essential

·Work experience in a company of a similar size/background would be beneficial

·Strong communicator with a positive attitude, comfortable translating legal requirements into layman terms for managers and consultants

·Team player with extensive IT abilities

·Ability to work effectively and meet deadlines

·Flexibility, commitment, drive and enthusiasm

·Strong attention to detail with a logical approach

·Common sense and ability to use initiative
