An exciting new opportunity has become available for an Assistant Underwriter to join a well established client based in Kings Hill.

The successful candidate will be working closely with Underwriters to provide first class service whilst developing and maintaining excellent broker relationships in order to promote the profitable growth of accounts across the UK.

Responsibilities:
  • To take telephone calls, provide mid-term adjustments, to underwrite renewals, new business referrals and other tasks
  • To issue documentation accurately and in accordance with service level agreements
  • To prospect and actively contribute to the growth/retention targets of the HNW department
  • Understand the impact of claims & risk management on the performance of a risk
  • To prove own technical competence in handling mid & high net worth cases in accordance with
  • Co guidelines
  • To work on specific projects and/or training for others as and when required
  • To manage own portfolio of work in accordance with agreed service, technical, output standards,
  • accuracy & TCF requirements
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and brokers & undertake external visits, review meetings and social events when required

Key requirements:
  • Some office/customer service experience preferably in underwriting or in a legal department.
  • Cert CII or working towards CII Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills
  • MI and analytical skills
  • Acts well on feedback, constantly seeking to improve their performance
  • Actively listens to others and demonstrates their understanding with appropriate follow-up actions
  • Good organisation skills with ability to work to deadlines.
  • Must be proactive and able to work within a team environment.
  • Competent IT skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel (Intermediate) and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines to ensure turnaround times are met
