2Fawcett are recruiting for a Purchasing Director, to join a company located in Nottinghamshire on a permanent basis. This is a prime time for the business, which makes the Purchasing Directors role even more advantageous. Working alongside the other Directors, the vacancy is original, and will allow you to really flourish and make the role your own but most importantly do what you're great at.

The Role & Responsibilities of the Purchasing Director

Responsible for managing the purchasing strategy and activity for ensuring optimal supplier performance and price. You will develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management.

Drive excellence across the procurement function, within sourcing efficiencies, system improvements and supplier risk management.

The position will involve heading up procurement function across the group to support the organisation's objectives and ambitions. You will use your expertise to make cost savings across the organisation and improve the procurement function, helping to minimise risks and develop new policies and strategies along the way ensuring best practice is demonstrated.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a management capacity and will have experience in Far East sourcing. Applicants must have a great eye for detail with excellent negotiation and communication skills.

What you will require in the Purchasing Directors Role

Strong procurement experience in a related position, creating process improvements and efficiencies

MCIPS experience preferred not required

Knowledge of procurement systems and infrastructure

Excellent stakeholder management skills to effectively create and enforce a new procurement division

We are looking for a confident leader who has experience in managing a team, handling a large product range (with many SKU's) and who can carry out strategy.
