We are looking for a bubbly and bright individual to join our finance team on a temporary part time basis to cover maternity leave! The role will be for a Finance Assistant for approximately 4/5 months, based in Wincanton.

1.Purpose of the role

TPG Services Finance Assistant supporting the financial administration and reporting requirements across the business

Support general office administration with office management, as required.

2.Key responsibilities and tasks

2.1 Maintain the Purchase Ledger including

Daily input of supplier invoices to the ledgers;

Reconciling invoices with supplier purchase orders

2.2 Maintain the Sales Ledger including:

Invoicing Customers promptly;

Posting invoices and receipts;

Chasing Aged Debtors;

2.3 Maintain the Costing Ledger including:

Review all timesheets and expenses prior to batch posting;

Ensuring input data is accurate and up to date;

2.4 Ensuring all documentation is processed and accurately filed.

2.5 Assisting Financial Managerin other ad hoc financial tasks as required including

Month End;

Bank Reconciliations;

Credit Card Reconciliations;

3.General activities

3.1 Carry out any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business.

3.2 Provide a professional backup service for colleagues during peak times or during absence.

3.3 Follow company procedures, standards and regulatory requirements.

3.4 Maintain continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date.

3.5 Continuous improvement of contribution to the company.

3.6 Act as an ambassador for the company in all interactions with customers and the public.

Qualifications, experience and skills


·Part Qualified or Qualified by experience

·Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.

·General understanding of current VAT legislation.

·Methodical, numerate and accurate.

·Good team working skills

·Professional telephone manner.

Excellent organisational and administrative skills.


·Knowledge of Access Dimensions accounting systems.

·Knowledge of PAYE legislation

·Experience of working in a small departmental team.

Role travel requirements - Main base will be Cale House, Wincanton with travel to other TPG sites and client sites as and when required.

Other requirements

·Must have an existing right to live and work in the UK

·Must have passed UK security clearance to Security Check level or be able to obtain this level.To gain SC clearance you will normally have had to have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

·Must be able to obtain a basic security check which will normally require you to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years.
