A key driver to us achieving this would require a shift towards new approaches to developing the systems and applications that underpin the Bank. We are looking to reduce the overall IT estate, whilst increasing its capability by exploiting leading edge tools.

What you'll be doing?

Our Service Now engineering team are responsible for the ongoing support of the Service Now platform in relation to innovation, roadmap, governance and health (upgrades) of the platform. The platform currently hosts the ITSM, HR, APM and GRC.

The Lead Developer will be a core member of the Service Now engineering team and is responsible for implementing platform solutions that are aligned to the overall platform design principles and strategy, working alongside the Platform Lead SME and other developers within the team in a highly collaborative environment.

You'll understand all technical aspects of an implementation including:
  • Service Now Solution architecture, desirable, not essential
  • Application UI
  • Process and solution integration
  • Workflow design/configuration
  • Reporting
  • Integration components (SSO, LDAP, etc.)
  • Proven experience as a key technical resource leading the development of Service-Now solutions
  • Experience with web technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, and Web Services)
  • Knowledge of technical components such as LDAP, VPN, SSL technologies

What skills you'll bring?
  • Advanced experience of SAAS technologies and key technical components
  • Preferable advanced experience with ServiceNow implementations but not essential
  • Preferable experience with other ITSM software (BMC, Landesk, Cherwell, Heat, Axios, HP,etc.), but not essential
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, therefore being able to present solution to platform Design Authority
  • A challenging and constructive mind set, to ensure conforming with core design principles
  • Decisive, creative, analytical and proactive thinking
  • Effective communication and relationship management
  • Coaching and mentoring of junior members of the team
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs
  • Knowledge of web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture as well as experience managing expectations and priorities.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering a successful implementation
  • Should have participated in, and be familiar with project methodologies, in particular agile
  • Commercial experience of technical development and implementation experience
  • Proven solutions consulting experience
  • You'll also have the following Service Now Certifications: Certified System Administrator, and Certified Implementation Specialist (desirable, not essential)
