A professional services company, based in Birmingham is now recruiting for a Service Reliability Engineer (Azure focus) which will be part of the RPA automation Support and Services team. The salary for this role is £65k - £70k plus package and offers the chance for home working.

This Service Reliability Engineer role will get the chance to be solely responsible for measuring the reliability of the hundreds of automated processes spanning across the organisations multiple business units as Phase 1, with a view to move to an external market. This varied role will suit applicants from a solid Infrastructure or DevOps background - the key skill required is Azure - and is a chance to really grow something from the ground up.

Key responsibilities for the role,
  • Microsoft Azure platform expertise from build to run
  • Experience of working in a DevOps/Agile support environment
  • Support background including Tier 1-3
  • Initially you will measure and monitor uptime around high traffic environments
    • Secondly you will be making it more reliable
    • Finally you will be involved in upgrading the platform which is built on Azure platform

As an SRE you will be responsible for exceptions, platform degradation, networking problems, high usage of resources, or slow responses from their RPA services and can triage the Service end to end
  • You will be the point of contact for customers for triaging and supporting automated robots
  • As an SRE engineer you will be responsible for working with the Service Transition Mangers to ensure all support documentation is received and signed off though the automation delivery cycle life cycle ahead of the handover into service.
  • Deploying code from Development into Production as part of the change/release management process
  • Experience of release automation tooling in both infrastructure delivery
  • Experience of release out or deploying into Cloud

As automation becomes critical to business delivery replacing headcount and providing essential assurance processes, the service needs to be highly available with a robust Service & Support model aligned to business requirements. The Support Services will need to be agile, delivering change rapidly with minimum disruption so a DevOps approach will be used.
