Do you want to work Nights? Ever thought about being there for people with Learning Disabilities? Being there for others and providing emotional reassurance overnight is more rewarding than you think...

MacIntyre Care is an award-winning national charity supporting people with autism and learning disabilities and we're now hiring an experienced or non-experienced Waking Nights Support Worker at Ellesmere Port.

Part time - working 19 hours per week - 2 nights over 7 days.

What will I be doing?

You will be available during the night to provide physical support and emotional reassurance when the people we support at this service are wakeful; checking at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day. They're quite an active bunch during the day so sometimes they'll just need to talk things through with the night team before settling for the night.

Who will this suit?

Firstly, you don't need experience to become a Waking Nights Support Worker but it's not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 nights are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it's something you'll never forget.

As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we'll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support.

Who are MacIntyre?

We are an Award winning Charity that has the core belief that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.

We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behavior Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.

Pay and Rewards

MacIntyre provides a full induction and ongoing training, including the opportunity to gain nationally accredited vocational qualifications. We also offer a range of benefits which includes:
  • 6.6 weeks (including statutory public holidays) rising with service to a maximum of 7.6 weeks (including statutory public holidays) after 5 years (pro rata for part time staff).
  • The sense of feeling proud of your impact and proud of how far the person you're supporting has come
  • Full and on going training
  • Opportunity to gain nationally accredited vocational qualifications
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • MacIntyre pays for your DBS check
  • Employee Assistance scheme to support your health and wellbeing
  • MacIntyre Staff Savings Scheme
  • MacIntyre Rewards Scheme
  • MacIntyre Perks which offers up to 6% discount off leading retailers including Tesco, Curry/PC World, Costa and many more

Part-time positions are pro rata.

How do I apply?

We want to make it as easy as possible for you so there are a couple of options.

You can click Apply on the MacIntyre website, complete some brief details and upload your CV.

Alternatively if you would prefer to complete a manual application form, you can either download this from our website or phone us on 01908 357 016 and we will post you an application form.
