The Opportunity The Speechmatics Products team helps shape the services, products and features that will be used by partners and customers who need speech technology to meet their business needs. It is important to us that the deliverables we provide are easy to integrate and consume into the wider solutions offered by these partners, and as a result, a detailed understanding of their business and needs is essential. You will take a leading role in analysing and understanding the future of the voice recognition and adjacent markets and determine the product direction of Speechmatics within it - using your skills as a product manager to balance competing prioritisation requirements. You will also be instrumental in identifying the real-world business problems of our customers and helping them to meet their challenges by translating them into products, services and features that will delight them. Ease of use is key for our products. This role not only requires close relationships with customers but also with our Engineering, Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that all are aligned. You will be joining a small Product team as we work with our customers to grow our product and feature portfolio. You are a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on rapidly moving research developments into products. Prior experience of speech recognition is desirable, but not necessary imperative. Speechmatics has a team of speech recognition engineers who will collaborate on all speech related projects and help you understand any specialist knowledge required. This will include opportunities to participate in internal training courses aimed at teaching machine learning theory and practice. Key Responsibilities Define the product vision, themes, strategy and roadmap. Language strategy Pricing strategy based on market research, production costs and anticipated demand Ownership of the product throughout its lifecycle Working with an In life product manager from concept to end-of-life Line management for a small product team of Product managers and Product owners Use case analysis and feature alignment to align with GTM marketing strategy Benefit realisation Defining MVP for new features and learning from customers Represent the voice of the customer in senior level management meetings Evangelise the product internally and externally Be recognised as a leader in the business and build relations with business stakeholders Deliver regular ( monthly) volume, revenue and profit forecasts Write product Epics Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to assess and establish partnerships Be the recognised expert in the business on your product, the market, relevant technology and the competition Perform product demos to customers and develop relationships in key clients Continue professional and technical education, attending workshops, seminars, etc. Requirements Essential Worked within companies achieving high growth and scale Passionate about product management and the market Have experience working with a fast-paced technical software product team Demonstrated experience in working closely with engineering, sales and marketing teams Experience in product management within a machine learning environment Understanding how ML is applied to solve real-world problems Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and demonstrated ability to priorities work and support development teams in this environment Ability to establish product strategies, and deliver though a prioritised and communicated roadmap Commercial and customer focused Strong negotiating skills Able to network and develop key relationships at all levels Excellent teamwork skills Demonstrable success in defining and managing products Thorough knowledge of technology relating to the product No previous experience of speech is required but some experience of working with machine learning would be a distinct advantage An interest in languages and linguistics with the ability to speak/understand multiple languages. Educated to the level of a Bachelor's degree or above Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills Proven ability to motivate and drive cross-functional teams without formal authority Desirable Ability to document product requirements and acceptance criteria Experience with using Jira Salary £80,000-£90,000 per annum.
