Our market leading, well-established client based in Luton is looking to recruit a Principal Internal Assessor to manage and implement the Internal Assessment Process on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will conduct regular assessments and subsequent management of any findings on a routine and planned manner in order to satisfy any customer and certification and regulatory approval (typically ISO9001, AS9100, MAOS, DAOS etc.).
Supports the identification and management of business risks and opportunities within the applicable divisions operating within the business.

Key Responsibility Areas
*Support and attendance at the UK A&C council
*Input to the development of the UK Certification Body/Regulator assessment schedule
*Co-ordination of the divisional communications and pre assessment reviews
*Identify and co-ordinate the Certification Body/Regulator site assessment reviews, assessors and shadows, and offer assurance advice and assistance within their allocated area
*Timely response for containment, correction and corrective actions to any Certification Body / Regulator NCR's
*Timely inputs to the Assessment & Certification monthly reports
*Contribution to the delivery of product to agreed time, cost and quality standards. (Internal & Customer)
*Contribution to IPT on Business risks in support of projects where appropriate.
*Adherence to agreed software/firmware quality standards, as well as internal and external procedures.
*Ownership of and development of appropriate and timely solutions.

Line of Business:
*Manage assessment schedules and planning within the company EMIT planning tool with up to date maintenance, and monitor performance against assessment schedules and re-plan as necessary
*Provide support, guidance and training to assessment staff where required.
*Monitoring of assessment non-conformance closure including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Verification.
*Conduct internal assessments

UK and Division:
*Member of the UK Assessment & Certification Council representing their Line of Business
*Escalation of divisional Assessment & Certification issues to the UK council
*Assessment & Certification reports into UK Audit and Certification Lead & LoB's
*Support, and at times host, the Certification Body / Regulator Planning & Follow up
*Communicate the Certification Body / Regulator requirements and schedule to the business, and support the Process Owners prior to, during and after the scheduled assessments
*Work with the Process Owners to address any findings and to collate the supporting objective evidence.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
*Ideally Lead Assessor certified
*Experienced at managing and implementing Internal Assessments within the Defence Industry and experienced in the Non Conformance Lifecycle including Root Cause Analysis
*Ability to manage and lead cross functional teams, as well as communicate and report at all levels within the business
*Experience of the AS9100 QMS standard and its implementation within the Defence Industry
*Ability to manage 3rd party and customer assessments to conclusion, and have experience of risk and opportunity management
