Your new role

As a field-based Refrigeration Apprentice Engineer you work in and around the London area on a permanent basis. The general purpose of the role will require you to carry out planned and reactive Refrigeration maintenance tasks safely and to an agreed standard within a defined portfolio of stores to a required Service Level. This is a pivotal role in our Refrigeration division where you will play a key part and in our ongoing growth and success.

What you'll be responsible for
  • Support pre-planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance tasks through the guidance of your mentor
  • To participate and learn all refrigeration reactive and planned maintenance tasks allocated to mentor
  • Liaise daily with your mentor regarding your workload and progress
  • Gain an understanding of how to complete the site-based log book containing all risk assessment, method statement, third party engineer's reports and signing/attendance sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements and adhere to best working practices always.
  • Undertake relevant HR processes including, notification of absence, holidays, training needs and completion of timesheets.
  • To build a wider Business awareness.
  • You are what the client sees first; make a good impression (ensure you comply with dress code)
  • Attend College, undergo exams and keep the business informed of progress

To be successful in this role you will have
  • Qualified at GCSE Level in English, Maths and Science - preferably obtained a level 1 or 2 Engineering qualification at a Higher Education/College institution.
  • Exposure to the Refrigeration industry or a genuine interest to enter this field.
  • Vailed Driving Licence is esstential

Interview Information
  • Interviews will be an Assessment centre, with a 2nd stage being a face to face interview.
  • The duration of the apprenticeship will be between 36 and 48 months.
  • You may be required to stay away for study weeks.
  • You will have an increase in your salary year on year

Additional Information

For Engineers only Your role involves being on call, reacting to emergencies as well as attending business critical works. The call out premium is incorporated into your basic salary. You will normally be on call 1 week in 4 from 17:00 on a Friday for one week. You will not be paid an on call allowance; this is incorporated into your annual salary. Compensatory rest periods following call-outs are unpaid. Payment is made from the time you leave home to returning home.
