Accounting Advisor - Full or part time possible

Siemens are looking for a qualified Accountant to join our Accounting principles team in Frimley to provide accounting advise to the business for a 6 month period. For this role, we will consider either full or part time. Siemens has a 30 September year end and we are looking for someone to support the team with year-end deliverables.

What part will you play?

  • Accounting queries, focussing on revenue recognition, hedge accounting etc
  • Assisting with the co ordination and the timely roll out of IFRS 16 which is going live on 1 October 2019
  • Learning about Siemens in accounting for complex and non-routine transactions during special projects
  • Liaise with other teams in Siemens and the external auditor on identified accounting topics
  • Contribute to the development of and ensuring appropriate IFRS knowledge by providing trainings to the finance and accounting community on a regular basis and in case of accounting policy change
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes for internal and external purposes and training of the application of those processes

What you need to make real what matters:

Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and of financial reporting and implementation guidelines

Strong technical accounting and analytical expertise

Experience with IFRS 16 highly preferred

Experience in the assessment of complex and non-routine accounting transactions

Qualification as ACA, CPA or equivalent are highly preferred

Basic knowledge of M&A, tax and legal requirements for companies

IT literate; capable in PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Structured and independent style of work

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
