Our client is a global Chemical & Digital manufacturing business with a number of UK Sites. Based at the Derby location, you will be currently working in a manufacturing or FMCG business and will be able to demonstrate a track record of success and progression in your career to date. You will be highly analytical, with the ability to think on your feet and make commercial decisions across a complex matrix organisation quickly and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be Results focused, an inspirational Manager with the ability to foster good working relationships both internally and with customers. Candidates will have the energy and enthusiasm to make changes and to continuously be looking to enhance current processes to improve productivity. There will be an element of travel around the UK.

Role Remit:

The Manufacturing Managers key responsibilities will be safety on the site, meeting customer needs and requirements, coaching shift leaders and continuous improvement. The broader role will involve the control of production and the achievement of output targets in terms of quality, quantity, yield and waste costs in accordance with health, safety and hygiene standards. You will also have day to day responsibility for all ancillary activities on the site such as Security, EHS, and maintenance.

Core Duties:
  • Deliver continuous performance improvement through identifying, supporting and leading projects that drive improvements in efficiency and other line KPIs
  • Lead Lean deployment and competency plan, building sustained site capability across the site
  • Budget - set the annual budget and control spend on the site
  • Manage a team of 20 Operatives including Production & Shift Managers
  • Attend regular Leadership team meetings

suThe Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Engineering
  • Excellent leadership experience
  • Track record of applying Lean Principles
  • Understanding of Financial Accounting and / or the budget process
  • Able to communicate effectively across the business
  • High level of drive and energy
  • A passion for results and continuous improvement
  • Ambitious with a track record of career development to date
