Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for the preparation of a portfolio of subsidiary accounts and the Year end Group Report & Accounts for both Topco and Midco. In addition, it will be responsible for maintaining the accounts production system for the subsidiary companies and monitoring and tracking of the audit for these, liaising with both the auditors and other relevant internal teams as appropriate.

In addition, the role will assist in audit planning, timetabling, instructions, discussions, training and engaging with all stakeholders in the planning process as well as taking the lead on resolving audit queries for nominated companies by liaising with other departments and the auditors. Where necessary assistance with the preparation of notes to the Group consolidated accounts may also be required.

The role will also include ensuring that for nominated companies the statutory accounts and ledgers are in agreement or can be reconciled to the ledger and that all relevant journals are entered onto the nominal ledger at an agreed time to facilitate this.

Job Description:

Duties will include:

Annual reporting
  • Assist in updating the full list of statutory companies and ensure current through liaison with the Company Secretarial team
  • Assist in maintaining the financial statements software and ensure all data required for accounts production, group and subsidiaries, can be sourced. Help test any data collection files prior to roll out.
  • Assist in the production of the year end instructions, timetables, training documents, PBC lists, - ensuring engagement of all relevant stakeholders.
  • Full involvement in maintenance, update and testing of year end stat packs
  • Prepare the annual Group report & Accounts for both Topco and Midco
  • Prepare financial statements for which you are responsible, taking it through to final sign off by the auditors in line with timetable - including subsequent events data collection and drafting.
  • Audit file production / review
  • If assigned preparation of the management accounts and annual financial statements of the Ardonagh Community Trust
  • Assist with preparation of the year end accounts for Group consolidated companies
  • Liaise with the tax team and the technical team to ensure comments and calculations / accounting updates are accurately reflected in financial statements
  • iXBRL tagging for group companies
  • Office of National Statistics form completion
  • First review of statutory accounts produced by other statutory accountant
  • Assist in regulated companies solvency position monitoring and reporting
  • Assist in preparation of Audit Committee / Board papers as required
  • CDM maintenance and updates

Other ad hoc tasks
  • Assistance with new system implementation within the Group Financial Reporting team e.g. Tagetik for accounts production.
  • Assist in conjunction with Consol team TB mapping / initial uploads / acquisition accounting / set up on systems for new acquisitions / Disposals and if appropriate liaise with CoSec re any accounting date changes of companies required.
  • Assistance with project and other work as required
  • Reporting and documenting team controls as appropriate
  • Treasury Signatory in support of control framework/delegated authority matrix.
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required

Essential Criteria - Must be clearly demonstrated on CV
  • Previous experience of statutory accounts production, audit process management and ensuring reporting is correct at a legal entity level.
  • Professional Certification - ACA/ACCA/CIMA with industry experience
  • Specialised Knowledge -IFRS, UK GAAP
