Astrea Academy Trust is at an exciting stage of growth and development. To support our ambitions, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager in the South Yorkshire area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the finance function for the academies within their designated hub. Reporting into the Head of Academies Finance and working in a fast paced environment, you will be required to adopt a customer led approach when supporting the academy based teams in both Primary and Secondary settings.

With demonstrable experience of working as a Finance Manager, ideally in an educational background, you will be able to work autonomously and as part of team, using your own initiative to manage multiple tasks and prioritise your workload to meet the needs of the Trust. The ideal candidate will have experience of working as part of a multi skilled team including colleagues from Education, Estates and HR. Vital skills include financial and non-financial modelling, effective communication and negotiation abilities. Knowledge and experience of the education sector would be advantageous but not essential. You will preferably be a part qualified accountant currently studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA or have equivalent experience in setting, monitoring and controlling an Academy budget.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent administrative and IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. You will possess high analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate information and above all have a desire to ensure pupils in our care benefit from your ability to ensure efficiencies and value for money, giving them access to the best possible educational experience. You will be capable of supporting a busy finance function with the ability to multi-task and produce high quality outputs within agreed time frames.
