The Role Responsibilities

Facilities
  • Managing maintenance of all Data Centre infrastructure equipment (critical and non-critical)
  • Govern the performance of routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems, including: diesel generators, UPS systems, electrical switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC equipment, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems
  • Management of critical infrastructure improvement projects with key focus on deliver and quality
  • To ensure all specials requirements are reviewed, implemented and honoured for physical housing of equipment
  • Power Management with reference to managing the sourcing and utilization of power sources that are used to keep the facility functional
  • Manage all facilities documentation (planning, development, and implementation)
  • Understand the Data Centre Principles, Guidelines and implement following the bank's process
  • On-call 24x7 for incident management and Data Centre emergency response
  • Manage the physical access authorization to the Data Centres and security processes
  • Responsible for site safety and environmental compliance
  • Work closely with other technology and business service teams to understand and influence decisions dependent on Data Centre services
  • Lead various projects and programs as needed to drive long-term objectives for the Data Centre domain and beyond
  • Own and implement the key security processes as defined in the data centre guiding principles
Engagement
  • Assist, manage and maintain relationships with external vendors & contractors
  • Report monthly KRI's and KPI's, performance metrics for data centre facilities
  • Maintain a culture of safety, security and compliance in all aspects of Data Centre facilities
  • Focus on risk awareness and laid down strong mitigation plans to minimize / eliminate
  • Manage audit engagements, audit issues (if any) and crystalize process areas continuously


Our Ideal Candidate

Technical
  • Extensive knowledge of Data Centre critical systems, including: diesel generators, UPS systems, fuel systems, switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems.
  • Coordinating hardware Installs, Moves and Changes within a Data Centre environment
  • Experience of capacity and availability management and reporting
  • Project management skills ideally with Data Centre SME
  • Previous IT facilities experience is essential, preferably within a large enterprise
  • Data Centre Facilities management Certification
Non-Technical
  • Strong service attitude; ability to develop and build lasting customer relationships
  • Team player with excellent consultative and communication skills and the proven ability to work effectively with internal and external clients, vendors and consultants
  • Have a massive focus on customer experience and services
  • Experience working across multiple countries and cultures
  • Experienced in planning, facilitating, and managing change
  • Banking experience and passion for meticulous standards
  • Experience of working in a matrixed, dual reporting organisation where not all resources are directly owned by you
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of global team
  • Very good communications skills and writing skills
  • Management of external (vendor) resources, wherever required
  • Ability to train operational staff in new site procedures
  • Must be able to prioritise tasks
