Our client is a fast-moving, diverse and high-profile Transport Infrastructure operator which is also a market leader in their sector. They are now looking to grow their newly formed DevOps technical team.

Specifically, our client is looking to recruit an Azure DevOps Engineer to take responsibility for 3rd Party Service provision.

The breadth of work includes business-critical applications that are essential to the running of their business and to the delivery of infrastructure and network services that support their operation and those of its business partners. Role:

The role focuses mainly on the management of 3rd party suppliers as well as liaising with Internal Stakeholders to ensure business value is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Based in the IT Operations Centre, the Azure DevOps Engineer will focus on the administration and automation of software delivery across the full Microsoft Cloud offering including Azure, Powershell, SharePoint, and Power BI.

The successful candidates will be fully flexible and ideally, have experience of working in a large Service Management environment. The applicant will be involved in the delivery of services, solutions, and operations and be able to manage and resolve problems quickly, efficiently and resourcefully.

Responsibilities:

Have oversight over the following:

•Compliance of 3rd party cloud operation teams

•Maintain effective relationships with suppliers/ partners to organise the efficient supply of services within agreed contractual terms.

•Administering Azure, SharePoint, Powershell and Power BI environments

•Automating the software deployment process

•Continuous improvement of process and procedure

•Maintaining run books

•Production of Major Incident Reports.

Experience:

·Experience in Microsoft System Administration

·DevOps technologies (Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef)

·Azure cloud platform technologies

·Application lifecycle management and software development software (VSTS, Azure DevOps, Jira, GIT, etc.)

·Writing effective Powershell scripts either from scratch or adapting COTS as required.

NOTE: this may suit a System Administrator or 3rd line support looking to progress as excellent training is available.
