Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Derbyshire

Salary: £28-37,000 + shift allowance + overtime

Our Client is a world leading food processing business and they are seeking a high calibre Senior Electrical Engineer

You will effectively manage yours and your teams time and skills to meet the full PPM requirements of the site. This is to ensure production demands are achieved with minimal plant downtime at least cost and continuing improvements are seen.

Alongside this you will effectively manage the engineering budget

The role requires working a 4 on/4 off shift pattern on 6am-6pm shifts some flexibility may be required for additional call out work overtime is available

The role:

The role includes maintaining and carrying out improvements to the equipment within the facility.

A key objective within this role is to keep downtime to a minimum whilst working to maintain quality, hygiene and health and safety standards.

The role will also require the ability to obtain quotations for spares and consumable stocks whilst overseeing small project installations from concept to handover as and when required.

Another key objective of this role will be to ensure legal compliance at all times so experience with legislative restrictions would be advantageous.

To ensure the maintenance PPM system is adhered to in such a way that production downtime is reduced to an absolute minimum at all times.

Provide out of hours breakdown support in conjunction with the rota

Assist in the development of improvement and cost reduction projects.

To manage the electrical/mechanical engineering budget.

To manage all site electrical systems ensuring they remain fully compliant with all legal and insurance requirements.

To manage the purchasing and stock control of all site electrical/mechanical maintenance requirements in line with engineering budget targets.

To maintain and abide by the company permit to work system and all other H&S site requirements.

Ensure all records are suitably filed to comply with audit and legal requirements

The person:

The ideal candidate must be a time-served electrical engineer with full qualifications and a proven track record within an electrical maintenance role with good working mechanical knowledge.

Experience in a FMCG business

17th or 18th edition qualified

They will have been involved in PPM and project work ideally within a highly automated manufacturing environment, along-side experience of PLC controls.

Successful applicants must be reliable, highly organised and able to work well under pressure.

Mechanical experience will ideally include conveyors, elevators, inverters and pressure systems (steam and pneumatic).

Previous team management experience

Experience of ordering and managing stock, parts etc

PLC experience (Mitsubishi)

Understands networks and SCADA controls

Good understanding of Microsoft packages.

Good interpersonal skills.

Flexible approach to demands of the business

Able to work as part of a team.

Qualified to work with domestic and 3 phase.

Qualified to carry out installations.

Boiler management qualifications.
